OPI Mod About You

Here is OPI Mod About You with an accent nail of OPI Crown Me Already.  This mani felt so springy and feminine, and also made my hands look so tan!! I absolutely love this manicure, it was my first time wearing both polishes, but I had them on my wish list for a while.

It's so interesting to me how the color photographed differently depending on the bottle that I was holding, the first picture with the Mod About You bottle shows the color more accurately.

I know I saw this mani on another person, maybe via blog or instagram, but I have no clue who, so if you do know please leave it in the comments for me so that I can link to proper credit... Though I'm sure it has been done many times.

 Mani 2:

This mani also features a base of Sinful Colors Endless Blue.  The accent nail is a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, with the roses done using Endless Blue and Chrome Girl Barely Legal. The leaves are Essie First Timer.

Rainbow Nails

I recently entered an Instagram nail art contest hosted by @thary_xoxo and the theme was rainbow! Everyone was allowed 3 entries, so here are mine! And if you are on Instagram please follow me @sparkleandpolish I am much better at posting there than I am about blogging here, but I'm really working on it :)
Here is my first entry:

This mani makes me think of the circus, so many colors going on haha
Ring finger is a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, dots are China Glaze Make Some Noise, Sally Hansen Sun Kissed, Mellow Yellow, Lacey Lilac and Barracuda, and Essie First Timer

Thumb and Pinky were My Boyfriend Scales Walls with NOPI Confetti Fun layered on top

My second entry is rainbow leopard. This is my first time doing all over leopard, I'm usually much more of an accent nail fan, but this was kind of fun. The base color is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the spot outline is China Glaze Liquid Leather.

Disney Nail Art Challenge Day 7: The Lion King

Sorry I'm late with this post.. I was just not inspired by the theme so it took some effort.. but enjoy my Lion King inspired sunset and tree motif.
For these nails I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then I painted 1 coat of Chrome Girl Endless Summer on all of my nails.  After that dried, I sponged a gradient of Endless Summer and OPI My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours. I freehanded black tips and then blobbed on an accent nail tree. The middle finger has a sun rising, or maybe setting to create the bright orange tones of the sky.
Enjoy!!

Disney Nail Art Challenge Day 6: Bambi

Here are my nails for day 6 of the Disney Nail Art Challenge, hosted by Rambles of a Polish Addict.  I have never seen the entire movie of Bambi, but Flower the skunk is just so freaking cute!! I painted Flower's face on my thumb nail, did an attempt at skunk stripes on the pointer and pinkie fingers, and on my middle and ring fingers I did dotted flowers.  I absolutely loved this manicure!!

Polishes Used:
China Glaze Liquid Leather, For Audrey and Dance Baby, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Essie First Timer, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and Sun Kissed. The gray on Flower's face is a mix of Liquid Leather and MBFSW, because I am seriously lacking a pale gray in my collection.

Disney Nail Art Challenge Day 5: The Beauty And The Beast

Day 5!! Todays nails are inspired by Beauty and the Beast.  I did my best to copy Chip onto my nails, his face on my ring finger, and the other nails have the pattern from the base of the cup. Enjoy :)

I think his nose/handle is a little to big for his face... but other than that he is actually pretty cute.

OPI German-icure By OPI

This polish is from the OPI Fall 2012 Germany Collection and it is AMAZING!! If you don't have this by now you are missing out.  Deep glowy reddish brown, flawless formula, just amazing. I'm sure you've seen tons of pics of this polish and the rest of the collection over the past few months, but it is just too fabulous not to share!

Just wow! I love wearing this color, I have gone back to it many times since initially purchasing!

Disney Nail Art Challenge Day 4: The Little Mermaid

So day 4! I'm excited to have made it this far, is that pathetic or what? Commitment is clearly not my strong suit haha. The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies!! Side note- My dream is to be Ariel at Disneyland.. Because we have a day dedicated to Ariel later on in the challenge I based today's mani on Ariels sister Alana. She was always my favorite because we have the same name, so as a young child I thought that meant that I too was a mermaid.
My pointer finger is China Glaze Liquid Leather and Dance Baby to show her black hair and pink crown.
Ring finger is OPI So Many Clowns So Little Time and Zoya Aurora to show her shell top
Middle Finger is Spoiled Kickin' The Habit and China Glaze Sweet Hook to show her fin
Thumb (my favorite nail of this mani) is China Glaze Sweet Hook and Chrome Girl Endless Summer

I think I'll go watch The Little Mermaid again :)

Disney Nail Art Challenge Day 3: The Fox And The Hound

Day 3 of Rambles of a Polish Addicts disney nail art challenge!! Today is inspired by The Fox and the Hound.... which I have not seen... So some useful googling brought me to a picture of Vixey the fox, who is freaking adorable. I'm using the challenge to push myself as a nail artist, so I decided to try and paint a picture of Vixey on my nail, and if I do say so myself I think it looks really good :)

The base color is OPI My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours, the white parts are OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, the lighter orange around the eyes is Wet n Wild Sunny Side Up and the darker color is OPI Germanicure by OPI! This was done using a thin paint brush and various sized dotting tools.

Disney Nail Art Challenge Day 2: The Jungle Book

Day 2 of the Disney Nail Art Challenge hosted by Rambles of a Polish Addict, todays theme is The Jungle Book... honestly this day had me very uninspired.. So I was lame and did jungle leave nails. If you follow me on instagram you already saw these.. and if you don't follow me you should :) @sparkleandpolish

The colors I used are Sinful Colors Calypso, OPI Jade Is The New Black and Julie G Gelato In Venice. I tried to use the different shades of green to show the light and shaded parts of the leaves.. I probably should have done my pointer finger.. bad blogger :(

Disney Challenge Day 1: Alice In Wonderland

So this is day one of my latest challenge attempt... hopefully this goes better than my first one. I'm loving most of the daily themes so I think it should be easier to finish... I hope. The first 11 days are movie inspired, and today calls for Alice In Wonderland. I love the visuals in this movie, but due to my affinity for floral nails, I wanted to try something different.
I chose to do Queen of Hearts inspired nails. This is the picture I used for inspiration.

http://www.alice-in-wonderland.net/alicepic/disney-movie/alice-with-queen-of-hearts.jpg
I love the intricacy in the background, using such muted colors and then the POP of color we see in the Queens outfit.

Colors Used:
Thumb, pinky and pointer finger: Sinful Colors Ardoise with China Glaze Liquid Leather layered on top via saran wrap method... hard to see but I thought it made the fingers more interesting, would have worked better with a lighter gray
Middle Finger: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow and Sunkissed, China Glaze Liquid Leather
Ring finger: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Vodka and Caviar, China Glaze Liquid Leather

Also, if you are interested in checking out other manis from the challenge, go to ramblesofapolishaddict.blogspot.com  she planned this challenge :)
